A rare ear­ly 20th cen­tu­ry phulka­ri from the Pun­jab region of Pak­istan. Wheat designs are embroi­dered in yel­low silk thread on a dark brick red, home­spun cot­ton ground. This would have been worn as part of wed­ding regalia. Phulka­ri lit­er­al­ly means flo­ral craft and was also the word used for embroidery.
